Garden Grant
The American Horticultural Society is pleased to offer a grant program for youth garden funding. The Julia Rappaport Growing Gardeners Fund provides $1,000 – $2,000 annually to one educator to start or expand a garden or gardening science project at their school or community. The grant is intended to increase access to hands-on gardening and gardening science for youth and to foster a lifelong passion for gardening, the natural world, and horticulture in children from all backgrounds.
Grant applicants are asked to share details of their proposed project, including objectives, plans, timeline, staff, and budget, as well as the anticipated impact on youth. The window to apply for a grant is open until May 10, 2024.

Library Grant
The John Cotton Dana Award, provided in conjunction with the H.W. Wilson Foundation, Core a division of the American Library Association and EBSCO, honors outstanding library public relations, whether a summer reading program, a year-long centennial celebration, fundraising for a new college library, an awareness campaign or an innovative partnership in the community.

Journalism Grant
The Kemp Grant is for teachers who currently have journalism/media teaching or advising responsibilities or who are preparing for those responsibilities. Recipients are expected to return to journalism teaching in the fall. Priority will be given to uncertified teachers/advisers and to those with little or no journalism and advising experience.

Excellence Grant
Established in 1995, this prize honors the Beveridge family’s long-standing commitment to the AHA and K–12 teaching. Friends and family members endowed this award to recognize excellence and innovation in elementary, middle school, and secondary history teaching, including career contributions and specific initiatives.
The prize will be awarded on a two-year cycle rotation: in even-numbered years, to a group; in odd-numbered years, to an individual. The current prize amount is $1,000.

Toshiba America Foundation
Sixth to 12th grade teachers are invited to apply on-line for a Toshiba America Foundation grant of up to $5,000 and more than $5,000 to help bring an innovative project into their own classroom.
With a Toshiba America Foundation grant, sixth to 12th grade teachers can bring their best new teaching ideas to life.
